These Footballers Just Make Us Say “Eur-oh So Hot!”

As you may well know, the UEFA European 2012 Championships are officially over which means you have the attention of your man back but all those lovely footballers have disappeared.

Just in case you missed all the action, the Her.ie team got together to create a list of who we think the hottest European footballers are. Such a hard life we know!

More importantly it means that you can ogle them until your heart’s content. Be warned, you may require a cold shower when we’re done.

1. Gerard Pique (Spain) – He is the first of many Spanish players to make it onto our list and even though he’s dating one of the most beautiful women in the world (Shakira), we still think he’s worth a mention. Having played for some of the greatest teams in the world including Manchester United and Barcelona, he is one of the hottest players at the moment.
2. Manuel Neuer (Germany) – We would have happily been Neuer’s shoulder to cry on after his team lost out to Chelsea in the European Champions League earlier this year. We would also have happily been at all of his Euro 2012 matches to give him a post-match rub down.
3. Iker Casillas (Spain) – Real Madrid and Spanish international goalkeeper Casillas ticks all of the boxes: tall, dark and handsome. Tickets are booked, we’re heading to Spain for our summer holidays next year!
4. Niko Kranjcar (Croatia) – With the tousled hair and the designer stubble, could you resist the charms of Croatian and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Niko Kranjcar? We didn’t think so.
5. Loic Remy (France) – Two words: those lips. French international Loic Remy makes the team at Her.ie towers say, in the words of another rather handsome French footballer Thierry Henry, va va voom!
6. Cesc Fabregas (Spain) – Having made headlines for jumping ship from Arsenal to Barcelona last year, Fabregas is one of the most sought-after players of his generation. But let’s face it, it’s not his footballing skills we’re interested in!
7. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) – Those shoulders, that chest, those legs, that six-pack… sorry, got a little distracted there. Ronaldo may be a bit greasy and full of himself but we can’t deny that we’d love him to never wear a top again. A girl can but hope!
8. Shay Given (Ireland) – The list wouldn’t be complete without at least one Irishman making an appearance. So here he is! Shay Given is one of those footballers who looks both handsome and gentlemanly. Just in case he asks, he can take us out for a romantic meal any time he likes. 
9. Xabi Alonso (Spain) – The last of the Spaniards, Xabi Alonso is quick and has fantastic ball skills on the pitch. Here’s hoping that’s also the case off the pitch! Either way, we’re still happy to look at him.
10. Robin Van Persie (Netherlands) – While he’s not the most muscular footballer around, there’s something about Robin Van Persie. Perhaps it’s his passion and drive. Then again, it could be his incredible cheekbones and killer smile.

There were so many other names we wanted to put on the list including past players such as David Beckham and Freddie Ljungberg but unfortunately they weren’t able to make an appearance in their respective teams this summer. Doesn’t mean you can’t look them up online though!
