Jane Moore said the fault did not lie with Vanessa Bauer.

Ever since Love Island's Megan Barton Hanson went in on boyfriend Wes Nelson's Dancing on Ice skating partner, Vanessa Bauer she has received a lot of criticism. Megan uploaded and then deleted an Instagram Story which accused Vanessa of announcing the breakup of her relationship with her boyfriend and thus detracting from Wes' success on the show. She also said that Vanessa had been hostile towards her and failed to make eye contact with Meg. Yesterday Megan appeared on Loose Women to chat about the situation, but when one of the panel openly challenged and disagreed with her, things got a bit awkward. Speaking to the panel, Meg insisted that all the drama this week was caused by Vanessa making "no effort" to reach out to her and extend an invite to the rink to watch Wes train. However, when Megan revealed that Wes had invited her numerous times, a baffled Jane interrupted: "So why didn't you just go...?" Meg rebuffed:

"As a woman she should have reached out to me."

Jane disagreed that the onus was on Vanessa to make Meg feel included and insisted that had Meg accepted Wes' invitation, the two women would have met and it would have been fine. Meg elaborated that her reasoning behind deleting the controversial Instagram was because it was giving Dancing On Ice and Vanessa more press attention. In the interests of fairness, Andrea McLean then read a comment from a spokesperson for Vanessa which seemed to refute Meg's insistence that she was looking for headlines by announcing the breakup of her relationship:

"Contrary to suggestions, Vanessa did not 'announce ' her split. She has never discussed her private life and as always wants to stay focused on her professional commitments."

The panel definitely sympathised with Meg's concerns however and acknowledged that Megan and Wes are still a fairly new relationship and seeing your significant other having chemistry on the ice with someone else must be tough. Megan said that she and Vanessa are currently trying to resolve their issues and said that she reached out to Vanessa via text. She did not comment on whether Vanessa replied.
