Together Six Years… And Now McIlroy’s Ex Says They Don’t Call Or Text Anymore

A disappointed Holly Sweeney has revealed that her and ex-boyfriend, golf star Rory McIlroy, have finally moved on with their lives.

The USPGA champion and the student ended their six-year relationship last year before he hooked up with tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki.

But Holly, 21, admits Rory now refuses to return her text messages and calls, preferring to concentrate on his new Danish girlfriend.

She told the Daily Mirror; “We were in touch after we initially broke up, then it became an occasional text message and now we’re getting on with our own lives.

“It’s like any relationship, it usually just fizzles out and it has fizzled.”

Holly had previously admitted that she still longed to pick up the phone and call Rory, as he was the only person who understood her.

The couple had been dating for six years.

The Belfast student said it’s still tough to be continually questioned as to why herself and her teenage love split. We bet it must be even harder to watch him earn millions as an international sports star…

Holly said; “Every time I’m out people keep plaguing me with questions  until they get an answer.

“I couldn’t really cope with that while coping with the break-up itself. I’d rather take the bull by the horns and say what I have to say and be done with it.

“Any break-up is hard but I think that reached a new level. It was all over Twitter and at the time I went to Dubai for a holiday to get away from it all.”
