The basketball player said that he was “incredibly sorry” for his actions.

NBA player Tristan Thompson has issued a public apology to Khloé Kardashian after a paternity test confirmed that he fathered a child with Maralee Nichols.

Tristan, who shares his daughter True with Khloé, said that he now takes “full responsibility” for his actions, and that he is looking forward to raising his son.

It had previously been widely speculated that Tristan was in a sexual relationship with Maralee while he was in a relationship with Khloé.

In a post shared to his Instagram, Tristan wrote: “Today, paternity tests reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.

“I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.”

In a second story, he addressed Khloé directly.

The basketball player wrote: “Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you.

“You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”

Tristan’s statement comes after Ms Nichols filed a paternity lawsuit against him. Their son was born last month.

Khloé has not commented publicly on Tristan’s statement.
