Victoria Beckham has long been an icon of ours. From her Spice Girls days to debuting her fashion line and now a beauty line, she has gone from strength to strength in her career.
She recently spoke to Glamour about her new cosmetics line, but more importantly, what it means to her to empower other women.
While speaking in the interview, she gave a nod to Meghan Markle who gave a speech at the British Fashion Awards late last year.
Victoria said that she appreciated how Meghan spoke about being kind, and how it is needed now more than ever.
“I have always been about embracing who you are, supporting others, not being judgemental, treating others how you want to be treated,” she said.
“Sometimes it’s just the fundamental basics. Women supporting women is key. I liked what Meghan Markle said at the [British] Fashion Awards, that it used to be cool to be cruel, and now it’s cool to be kind. Kindness was always at the core of Girl Power.”
The designer went on to say that positivity is key, as there will always be people that will tear you down.
“I know everything I do will be scrutinised and that’s OK, but I don’t let it get in my way. I’m a very positive person. If you put out positive energy, that’s what you’ll get back.”
