This is the moment that little baby Lachlan heard his mother and father for the first time.
Australian Lachlan Lever was born with hearing impairment in both ears and was told he was unlikely to develop speech without some sort of intervention.
He was fitted with his first hearing aid just a few weeks later and his parents captured the amazing moment on camera. While baby Lachlan cries as the aid is fitted, his reaction when he hears the voice of his parents is truly heartwarming.
The family decided to share the footage on YouTube this week, revealing that Lachlan is now doing well.
“Our beautiful son Lachlan was diagnosed as having moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears. When he was seven weeks old, he received his first hearing aids. His reaction when they were turned on was truly amazing," they said.
“We cried from happiness. Our beautiful little boy is now two years old and doing remarkably well.”
