Bruce Jenner spoke about his journey to become a woman in an interview aired last night on US TV network ABC.

Speaking to host Diane Sawyer, Bruce said: “For all intents and purposes, I am a woman. My heart and my soul and all I do in life, that is part of me”.

After months of speculation about Bruce’s gender, the former Olympian spoke candidly about his decision last night.

“I would always say I’ve always been very confused about my gender identity, since I was a child. Bruce has been telling a lie his whole life about who he is, but I can’t do this any longer”.

Bruce also talked about the moment he told his children: “They all cried … mainly because they didn’t want anyone to hurt Dad”.

He also went on to talk about how he feels he can help others by talking about his story: “What I’m doing is going to do some good and we’re going to change the world.”

“I had this feeling—kind of a revelation—that maybe this is my cause in life”.

“This is why God put me on this earth, is to deal with this issue. And that was a very powerful moment. It certainly gave me an awful lot of courage.”
