An actor who appeared in the television show Vikings has received a five-year suspended sentence for possessing cannabis and tablets worth €124,000.
Anthony Seery, who used to be a marketing manager, apparently agreed to hold the drugs for a friend who said it might help pay off his gambling debts and mortgage arrears.
The 35-year-old, of Seaview Avenue, reportedly pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis resin, cannabis herb and chlorophyll huperzine at his home and garage.
Judge Patrick McCartan suspended the sentence for five years and ordered that Seery not abuse drugs again. He told the father-of-two: “I will give you a chance – because I think you will take it”.
