Zoella has apologised after old tweets resurfaced of her making fun of gay men.
The YouTube star had also shared tweets in the past referring to people as “tramps” and “chavs.”
She took to Twitter today to apologise for the old tweets, saying that it was not her intention to offend anyone and that she is now a different person.
She wrote:
things now and I’m sorry if I have offended anyone, that was not my intention. Obviously that is not who I am today and I’d like to think I’m a little older and wiser! I’m not perfect and I’ve never claimed to be, I’m only human!

The offensive tweets in question, which have since been deleted, made fun of gay men spitting, called an X Factor contestant a “fat chav” and suggested that an unknown woman should “keep her legs shut.”
One tweet from seven years ago read:
“I find it funny when gay men spit…it’s like they’re trying to be a bit macho but never works…”
Another said:
“‘Why are these clothes so expensive” because they’re designer you tramp, that there in your hand is a dress worth over £2000. Haha.”
Zoella, whose real name is Zoe Sugg, also faced backlash yesterday for the price of her advent calendar.
The calendar costs €65 and includes some “exclusive” treats such as a cookie cutter, confetti, a spray, and a key ring.
What else could you possibly need this Christmas?
