TONIGHT: Laura Whitmore’s all ready for her Love Island debut this evening

Iain Stirling voice: TONIGHT…

We’ve made it, guys. We’re here.

It’s the day of Winter Love Island, which means that we’ve only got to endure a mere few more hours on this earth before we’re graced with a load of hot, young things falling for each other in the sun.

And while the cruelness of the Irish winter may make watching people enjoying themselves in the baking heat that little bit more difficult, it’s a sacrifice we are wiling to make for the very necessary distraction of mind-numbing reality TV.

And thankfully, Love Island is as numbing as it gets.

This evening, a whole host of new, sexy singletons are set to enter the South African villa in the hope of finding love and a few Instagram deals.

Ushering them in there will be none other than Laura Whitmore, making her debut as Love Island host since Caroline Flack decided to step down in the wake of her assault charge.

No stranger to Love Island life (she’s going out with the the voiceover guy, she knows her shit), Whitmore has been steadily drumming up excitement around the new series via her social media.

And she’s been doing a fairly good job of it, in fairness.

Giving Good Morning Britain’s Richard Arnold a tour of the new villa, she has already hinted at a pretty big bombshell set to drop during tonight’s show.

As they reached the islanders’ bedroom, Arnold noted that there were 14 beds – but only 12 contestants have been announced.

“Almost like there might be a bombshell happening…” Whitmore teased.

The drama. It begins.

The first 12 islanders entering the villa were announced earlier this week.

They include a set of twins, Lewis Capaldi’s ex, and Rochelle Humes’ sister.

They also include a landlord richboy who likes to hunt animals for fun, but sure we won’t get into that now.

Winter Love Island kicks off tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two.
