Laura Whitmore has teased at a bombshell twist ahead of the Love Island premiere.

The Bray presenter is taking over hosting duties for the winter series of Love Island, which is set to kick off on January 12.

The series has relocated to a stunning villa in South Africa for the next few weeks and, as Laura Whitmore gave Good Morning Britain’s Richard Arnold a tour, she hinted at a pretty big bombshell on the way.

As they reached the Islanders’ bedroom, Arnold noted that there were 14 beds – but only 12 contestants have been announced.

“Almost like there might be a bombshell happening…” Whitmore teased, before continuing on with the tour.

The presenter previously told how Caroline Flack – who has hosted the previous series’ – had been “supportive” and “gracious” of her taking the role.

Flack announced last month that she would be “stepping aside” from season six of Love Island, following her assault charge.

“She’s been incredibly gracious and supportive of me taking on the role for the winter series,” Whitmore told The Mail Online. “She’s a brilliant host and I just hope that I can give the role the justice it deserves while she is taking some time off.”

Laura said that when she got the call to host the series, she was straight on to her boyfriend, Iain Stirling, to make sure he was comfortable with her taking on the job.

“When I initially got the call, I had a conversation with Iain. It’s his show,” she said. “I said, ‘How would you feel about it?’ We both agreed straight away.”
