5 movies on Netflix and TV that are definitely worth a watch

With so much to chose from online and on telly, we thought we’d make your life a little easier by narrowing down your options.

But it’s still no easy decision – there are some cracking films on tonight for you to make the difficult choice between.

Here are five that we think are worth a look.

 

1. Brooklyn – BBC One, 8.30pm

Plot: An Irish woman living with her mother in the 1950s decides to make a fresh start in America. She makes her home in New York and falls in love. However, her past catches up with her when she receives bad news from Ireland and faces a harsh choice between her two homes.

 

2. Deadpool – Netflix

Plot: When a failed experiment leaves a mercenary with supernatural healing powers, he creates a new identity to track down the man who wrecked his life.

 

3. The Theory of Everything – ITV3, 10pm

Plot: Biopic of Stephen Hawking, exploring the renowned astrophysicist’s romance with future wife Jane during their time at university in the 1960s and his initial diagnosis with motor neurone disease, which doctors believed would lead to his death within two years. Undaunted by deteriorating health, he continued his groundbreaking research into the origins of the universe.

 

4. Sex Tape – Netflix

Plot: Married couple Annie and Jay decide to spice up their love life by making a sex tape, only to find the next day their video’s been shared publicly.

 

5. Terminator: Genisys – Film 4, 9pm

Plot: A soldier fighting in a post-apocalyptic war against living machines is sent back in time to prevent an attempt to change the past – but when he arrives, he finds that history has been changed beyond recognition – and that a plot is being hatched by an unexpected enemy to destroy the future of the human race.
