6 questions we need answered in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 3

Keeley Ryan

Earlier this month, Netflix released the second season of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

The nine-episode ‘Part Two’ picks up with Sabrina exploring her darker side after she signed the Book of the Beast at the end of last season.

She’s keen to learn more about her heritage, while still maintaining her friendships in the mortal world – and there’s plenty more drama.

The final moments of season two set up a whole lot of new mysteries to be unraveled and The Mephisto Waltz has changed things massively…possibly even forever.

Here are six questions we need answered in Part 3 of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Spoilers for the latest episodes lie beyond this point.

Uh, just how are Sabrina and the ‘Fright Club’ planning on saving Nick?

The final moments end with Sabrina giving her pals a mission: “Let’s go to hell and get my boyfriend back.”

Which, beyond the fact that that seems like a fairly big mission for a group of teenagers, won’t that just unravel everything they have *just* fought for? Surely, separating Nick from the Dark Lord would just bring about the end of days?

Luke Cook, the actor who plays the Dark Lord, recently revealed he hasn’t heard if we’ll be seeing his character in Part 3 – yet. But we wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up resurfacing at some point.

And is Sabrina still the Herald of Hell?

By the end of season two – or Part 2, if you prefer – Sabrina et al. managed to foil the Herald of Hell prophecy by trapping the Dark Lord in Nick Scratch’s body.

As one of her two parting gifts before she took Nick/the Dark Lord to the seven circles, Lilith restored Sabrina’s powers…but that’s all that fans were told.

Does she still have those super-intense, OTT powers that came with her resurrection (aka: her Herald of Hell powers)? Or is she back to being her half-witch, half-mortal self?

What’s going to happen to the real Mary Wardwell?

Poor Ms Wardwell. She’s had a bit of a tough time lately.

Sabrina was delighted to see her “favourite teacher” return to Greendale after Lilith set her former host body free.

But it’s been a year (or so). Surely, at some point, she’s going g to learn that she’s lost so much of her life – as well as her fiancé, too.

And not to mention the fact that Lilith made *quite* the impression as Ms Wardwell….

Where does the Church of Night go from here?

Zelda said that Church of Night has now become the Church of Lilith, but is that just for the Greendale coven or for all of them?

If they do become the Church of Lilith, how will the more traditional followers feel about that? And what about those who remain from Father Blackwood’s Church of Judas?

Is everyone actually cool with the Dark Lord being locked up?

Over the last two seasons, it’s been made clear that witches are *super* devoted to the Dark Lord – remember when Prudence was over the moon at the idea of being eaten so her should could spend the rest of time in a special part of the Dark Lord’s heart?

And while we know the the Greendale coven is totally fine with the Dark Lord being overthrown, there most likely are a witches in other corners of the globe who aren’t going to be as keen on the idea of the person they worship being locked up.

Who is the new Big Bad?

If – and we mean if – the Dark Lord remains imprisoned, who is going to be the new Big Bad of the series?

The most likely candidate is Father Blackwood – who took off after poisoning pretty much the entire coven. We reckon he won’t be away from Greendale for too long and, while we don’t know where he’s gone just yet, we find it hard to believe he won’t try and take over once he hears about the Dark Lord.

Assuming that Prudence and Ambrose don’t get to him first, that is.
