7 cheesy Christmas movies that you can stream on Netflix now

Keeley Ryan

Halloween has barely come and gone.

But the halls are already being decked; the twinkling lights are getting strung up; and All I Want For Christmas is creeping back to the top of our Spotify playlists once again.

Thankfully, Netflix have a sleighful of holiday films already already on-site – just in case you’re looking to get a real head start on the Christmas season.

Here are some of our favourites.

The Holiday Calendar

One of Netflix’s new original movies for 2018, the festive film follows a photographer who inherits a unique and antique advent calendar – which can predict the future.

“Will this magical calendar lead her to love this holiday season?,” the synopsis from Netflix asks.

We’re betting that yes, it will.

A Christmas Prince

An American journalist named Amber who gets her big break when she is sent to a fictional European country to investigate a story about the Royal Family (in particular, the handsome prince with a playboy reputation).

Naturally, things don’t go as planned – do they ever in these kind of movies? – and Amber ends up being mistaken for the tutor who was hired to teach the Princess. Given her new unlimited access to the palace, she decides to keep up the charade – and ends up finding love, instead.

Plus, it’s the perfect time to catch up – the sequel is out in just a few weeks.

Once Upon A Holiday

A royal princess runs away from her official obligations and duties for a few days around Christmas to see how normal people live.

A good Samaritan comes to her aid when she gets robbed, and the two gradually begin to fall in love (like they always do in these kind of movies).

Basically, just everything we love about movies during the Christmas season.

Love the Coopers

In anticipation of a great family reunion, happily married Sam and Charlotte make the necessary preparations for the memorable night.

Everyone is expected: their children Hank and Eleanor, their grandchildren, Charlotte’s father Bucky and her sister Emma as well as aunt Fishy.

As the intertwined stories of four generations of Coopers unfold, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down, leading them all toward a surprising rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday.

Angel of Christmas

Susan gets a chance to write her first real article: one about the family angel.

Handcrafted by her great-grandfather, the festive decoration is said to have a history of bringing people together.

Working hard to get the article done on time, she begins to uncover the ornament’s magical past – which leads to her meeting someone special.

Christmas Inheritance

Before ambitious heiress Ellen Langford can inherit her father’s gift business, he has just one special mission for her.

She must deliver a special Christmas card to her dad’s former partner in Snow Falls, the hometown she never knew.

When a snowstorm strands her at the town inn, she’s forced to work for her keep, and in the process, finds romance and discovers the true gift of Christmas.

A Wish for Christmas

Sara Thomas prefers to sit on the sidelines at work – but when her big idea for a Christmas initiative is stolen, she makes a wish to Santa that she’ll finally have the courage to stand up for herself.

Santa grants her wish, but only gives her 48 hours.

As the clock ticks, Sara will discover how to channel the Christmas magic and speak her mind all on her own.
