Spoiler: he didn’t.
Anton Du Beke has addressed the rumours that he quit Strictly Come Dancing last night after he was the first professional dancer to be eliminated from the show.
The ballroom professional was paired up with What Not To Wear‘s Susannah Constantine and the couple performed the foxtrot during Saturday night’s instalment of the programme.
However, the performance wasn’t enough to impress the judges – or the British public – and the pair were sent home.
It was later reported by the Mail Online that Du Beke had quit the BBC show because he was sick of being paired up with “joke acts.”
However, the 52-year-old ballroom professional has refuted any claims that he is leaving the programme, calling the rumours “absolute rubbish.”
Well, that’s that then.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote:
“My loves, some people are reporting I’m quitting the show. Absolute rubbish! I’m NEVER quitting.
“Whether they want me or not, I’m never going! Love you all and love

They definitely want you, Anton. It’s not you who’s drumming up all those low scores.
"It's been all too brief" 💔 It really has. RT to give Susannah and Anton a big #Strictly goodbye! ✨ pic.twitter.com/Bct5ukMc9u

Anton and Susannah received a dismal 12 points for their performance on Saturday – the third lowest score that’s ever been given in the history of the reality show.
Bit grim really, isn’t it?
