However, the 52-year-old ballroom professional has refuted any claims that he is leaving the programme, calling the rumours "absolute rubbish."

Taking to Twitter, he wrote:
"My loves, some people are reporting I'm quitting the show. Absolute rubbish! I'm NEVER quitting. "Whether they want me or not, I'm never going! Love you all and loveThey definitely want you, Anton. It's not you who's drumming up all those low scores. https://twitter.com/bbcstrictly/status/1046474675965054977 Anton and Susannah received a dismal 12 points for their performance on Saturday - the third lowest score that's ever been given in the history of the reality show. Bit grim really, isn't it?@bbcstrictly!#BBCstrictly."
