Despite its dubious plot, How I Met Your Mother (aka, the story of a lovelorn Ted searching high and low, desperately romantically, to find a woman to impregnate) was for some time, one of our favourite TV shows.
It certainly wasn’t flawless, but it had some exceptional TV moments and has provided us with some staple catch phrases.
But apparently, there seems to have been a joke we all missed out on.
Imgur user Eclipezz pointed out that in the background of The Rehearsal Dinner (Season 9), there’s a part where the gang are making fun of Canada. After a few jokes, Robin says, “Two mitten jokes in a row, so you’re pretty much done then?”
To which Ted’s voiceover says, “Kids, we weren’t even close” (you definitely read that in his voice).
To illustrate the length of time passing, a whole Up inspired life montage was happening in the background.
We’re a bit dubious that nobody has noticed this before but the thousands of shares on the image suggest that perhaps it was a surprise.
