Calling all Cheer fans! Dare Me is the new Netflix show you’re going to love

Cathy Donohue

If you were obsessed with Netflix’s Cheer, Dare Me is your new must-watch.

Both Netflix additions showcase the fiery and competitive nature of the sport but Dare Me is a lot darker with a plot that includes murder.

Thrillers such as The Stranger have been huge hits on Netflix lately and of course, Cheer dominated social media timelines when it was first released so a show that incorporates both themes is likely to be popular with viewers.

Check out the official trailer below.

The official description for Dare Me reads:

“Relationships topple and loyalties flip when an icy new cheerleading coach takes over the high school squad ruled by Beth and her devoted BFF, Addy”.

However, this rock-solid friendship takes a turn when a new cheer coach arrives and what follows next is a dramatic watch with a murder mystery at the centre of the show.

Starring Willa Fitzgerald,Herizen Guardiola and Marlo Kelly, the ten-part series is based on Megan Abbot’s novel also entitled Dare Me.

Tv adaptations of popular books are becoming increasingly popular with Netflix viewers, just look at the immense reaction to Harlan Coben’s Safe and The Stranger.

With everyone staying at home for the foreseeable future, there couldn’t be a better time to get stuck into a new Netflix series.
