You can *actually* get paid for to watch Love Island

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Brb, applying.

Yes, you read that right, you can now actually get paid to sit around and watch Love Island all day – the real dream job.

Luxury bed linen retailer Secret Linen Store has just posted about their latest job vacancy, a relaxation researcher – but what does this entail?

The company is hiring someone to test out popular relaxation methods to find out which are the best for inducing a great night’s sleep.

The job involves doing certain tasks that most people do before bed, which includes watching Love Island.

It also includes routines like skincare and listening to podcasts, but the Love Island binging is what has us.

The lucky candidate will report back on how doing each task made them feel and how well they slept that night.

The role needs to be completed over the course of a month, and the person hired will get a  £300 salary to essentially do nothing – a win win.

So how do you get this job? Secret Linen Store is looking for someone who loves to laze, is an expert in all things relaxation and is willing to be paid to wind down.

The requirements are listed as:

  • Watching the latest episode of Love Island
  • Completing a minimum of three step skincare routine and take a calming bath or shower
  • Listening to three different podcasts, including true crime, comedy, and news
  • Cosying up with a book and a cup of tea
  • Using Spotify or YouTube to complete a meditation exercise or yoga class

Molly Freshwater, Co-founder of Secret Linen Store, said: “As we continue to move towards a hybrid working way of life, the lines between work and home can become blurred. More and more people are working later into the evenings, meaning by the time you go to bed, your brain finds it hard to switch off, often going without a ‘wind down’ period before you head off to sleep.

“With this in mind, we’d love to give to give someone the opportunity to dedicate time in the evenings to relax, and to take on the important task of finding out the ultimate calming pre-bed routine. We know our pyjamas and bedding sets are perfect for getting the best night’s sleep, but it’s so important to take time out in the evening (if you can!) to really switch off and help get you in the perfect relaxed state for bed. Hopefully the findings of the research will help people do just that.”

Applications are now open and will close on July 3rd, all you need to do is to fill in the application and tell the company why you deserve to be paid for this. To apply, click here.
