This LA company is hiring a professional party starter

The candidate will help people shed their lockdown awkwardness.

The past year has seen some interesting job trends.

Office workers embraced remote working and the hospitality industry adapted their services for takeout.

As countries around the world emerge from lockdown, job trends are likely to change again.

As we navigate a (hopefully) post-Pandemic world, new positions will become available.

One such position may just be the perfect job for the extroverted among us.

An LA company is looking to hire a professional party starter to help people adjust to socialising as Covid-19 restrictions ease.

Evite, an American digital invitation platform decided to look for an enthusiastic party starter after conducting research into people’s confidence levels post-lockdown.

Their study found that 35% of Americans feel like they have gotten more awkward after spending so much time at home, while 40% feared that they would no longer be able to make small talk.

The ideal candidate’s responsibilities will include sharing non-cliché conversation starters and providing a step-by-step guide to non-awkward hugging.

The winning applicant will take home $5,000 for the summer season.

Additionally, the professional party starter will offer tips on how to to go from “zoomed to groomed” as venues open up.

As this post is based in the United States, it is currently only open to legal US residents.

While pubs and clubs remain closed in Ireland, it’s safe to say that many of us are looking forward to a more social future.

Once we finally bid a fond farewell to the Zoom quiz, maybe we too will need a professional party starter to help shake off our lockdown shyness.
