Cork has a new dog friendly bar open and honestly what more could you ask for?

Yep, our four-legged friends are welcome “as long as they’re sound.”

At the end of last month, a new establishment opened in Cork city that combines two of our favourite things – pints and dogs.

Located on Liberty Street, Impala is a new development that offers a selection of craft beers (no fewer than 22 rotating beer taps have been installed), “a truckload of spirits and a tasty selection of natural and organic wines” and the best news of all is that well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend along with their well-behaved owners!

Delightful!

In terms of aesthetic, the bar has a rustic feel and relaxed atmosphere. With indoor plants and ambient lighting, it looks like an authentic throwback to the speakeasy 1920s era.

Big mood.

From next week onwards, Impala will also be rolling out a cocktail menu, so there’s a tipple to suit everyone’s tastebuds.

It’s fantastic to see the city being more receptive to the demands of making more places dog friendly. Impala looks likely to follow the success of establishments such as Bark & Bumble, Cork’s first dog café.

We can’t wait to check it out.
