Coronation Street Bosses Reveal Details Behind Sarah Platt’s Return

As fans of Coronation Street will know, Tina O'Brien is set to reprise her role as Sarah Platt on the popular Manchester based soap. While we knew that Sarah was soon to return to Weatherfield and that her daughter Bethany might also make an appearance, full details of the story have been kept under wraps until now. Bored of living in Milan with her mother, Bethany will arrive on the cobbles, prompting Sarah to follow her. According to reports, "wild-child" Bethany causes a stir when she first arrives by convincing Andy (previously known as Gavin) to buy her a drink. Sarah pictured with a younger Bethany Bethany seems much older than she actually is and she and Andy are getting on great until she comes to face to face with the Platt family who aren't so easily fooled. This is the start of a storyline which will see Sarah (aka Tina) back on the cobbles and it looks like Bethany will also have a pivotal role in upcoming episodes of the soap. Speaking to Digital Spy, a source said: "It's a strong return for Bethany and a real taste of what's to come! She seems much older than her years and is sure to be a handful." Stuart Blackburn, a producer on the show, said: "Bethany and Sarah Lou's scenes are looking great in the scripts. It's proper laugh out loud stuff, some of that, and we all know what Sarah Lou and David are like together!"
