Coronation Street star set to enter Celebrity Big Brother house this year

Love Island is going to be over soon but once it is, never fear because Celebrity Big Brother will be back on our screens and we all know that has the same level of national interest, right? Absolutely wrong. Very few people tune into CBB compared to Love Island which is all due to the fact that CCB just has a lot of fights without any of the makeup sex so why would you bother, really? We might just have to bother a little bit more this year though because a Coronation Street star is heading into the house and we all know how we feel about Coronation Street. (Pretty good, it's a decent soap.) Ryan Thomas, who played Jason Grimshaw in the ITV soap for many, many years, is set to make his reality TV debut this year in the form of entering the CBB gaff. He'll be following in the footsteps of his other brothers, Adam and Scott, who appeared on I'm A Celeb and Love Island respectively a few years back. The Sun reports that Thomas finished up on Corrie two years ago because he wasn't happy with the amount 0f money he was making. A source said:

“His brother Adam was on I’m A Celebrity and his other brother was on Love Island, so he knows exactly how lucrative it can be to get a spot on one of those kind of shows. “There’s talk of a £500,000 as an appearance fee.”

Not bad for a couple of weeks having your shopping paid for you. This comes after former Love Island contestant Gabby Allen was rumoured to be entering the house herself. Apparently, following her split from Marcel after he cheated on her, Gabby became eager to share how the breakup had affected her. And what better way to do that than subject yourself to 24-hour day filming with a load of people you're going to inevitably hate? Stunning.
