After two hit series on RTE Two, millions of views on their YouTube channel, and even hit singles off their Top Ten album, both Damo and Ivor are getting set for their first big screen adventure, and it will land in Irish cinemas sometime next year.
Andy Quirke will be returning in the two lead roles, while Ronan and Rob Burke, who directed the second season of the show, will be back to helm the feature film.
Wildcard Distribution, who were the folks behind last year's hit Irish comedy The Young Offenders, will also be the folks bringing this film to the cinema next year, making sure we're all cracking up all over again.
For those not in the know, Damo and Ivor are twin brother who were separated at birth, with the former raised by his "Grano" in the mean city centre streets of Dublin, while the latter was brought up in a life of luxury in Foxrock by parents who figure money is the answer to everything.
The movie will see the duo set off in search of their long lost third brother John Joe, an adventure that will take them out of the capital and lead them on an epic journey across all of Ireland.
Andy Quirke talked about the big news: “With a fan base as big as this I really feel it will break some records! I can’t wait for the fans to come on this next part of the journey.”
While the directors Ronan and Rob Burke added: “We are beyond excited to be directing Damo & Ivor The Movie. It is a hilarious script that brings these characters to the big screen in a big way. The fans will not be disappointed, it's gonna be whopper!”
We've gone through some of our personal highlights of the show so far, but we can't let their movie announcement go by without looking back at the first time the lads meet!
