You know Love Island? The show full of beautiful, slightly sunburnt people that’s taken over your life?
Well, it’s all not quite as it seems.
Producers want to give viewers a decent show with strong storylines (sure what else would keep all the memes rolling in?) and for that reason, some elements of it are manipulated and edited.
Yeah.
One of this year’s dumped contestants has revealed that among the topics of conversation in the villa has been Dani’s famous actor father, Danny.
Eyal Booker told OK that she brought him up but that this never made it on to screens.
“There were discussions surrounding acting and stuff and she’d drop it in but nobody really made a big deal out of it.
“Nobody was phased by it and it wasn’t a topic of conversation in there really.
“If Dani wanted to talk about it then we would talk about it but it was never about her dad, it was always about Dani and she said she didn’t want him brought into it.”
Similarly Marcel Somerville, who appeared on Love Island last year, got plenty of stick online for mentioning that he was in Blazin’ Squad.
After the show, he insisted the producers had told hi to mention it to his fellow Islanders.
“They’d be like, ‘Have a conversation with Olivia and could you just let her know you used to be in Blazin’ Squad?’
“They got me on the show for that reason, so I had to go along with it.”
