Derry Girls had the most gas tribute to co-star Nicola Coughlan at the IFTAs

Gas.

Derry Girls cleaned up at the IFTAs last night.

Like, they did really well. And rightly so because Derry Girls is a stunning show and it’s hilarious and essentially the best thing to come out of Ireland, really.

The show’s creator Lisa McGee won Best Writer in Comedy or Soap at the awards in the RDS yesterday evening and the show itself picked up the Gala Award for Comedy.

A well deserved win.

And, understandably, when both of these wins occurred, the cast decided to get up on stage and bask in the glory of their talent and sheer hilarity.

One star of the show, however, couldn’t attend the awards.

Nicola Coughlan, who plays Clare, wasn’t able to make it up to the RDS herself but that didn’t mean that her co-stars didn’t bring her along anyway.

In the form of a cardboard cutout of her head on a stick.

No, seriously.

There she is there now.

Attending the IFTAs.

Stunning.

Following Derry Girls‘ wins, Nicola was understandably extremely excited.

In order to exhibit her excitement, she took to Instagram Stories to gasp and just jump around the place for a bit.

And yeah, same tbh.

The IFTA’s will be broadcast on Saturday night at 10.30pm on TG4.
