Did anyone else think Millie and Liam were already boyfriend and girlfriend..?

Jade Hayden

No? Just me? Cool.

We can’t be the only people on the planet who thought that Millie and Liam were already in a relationship prior to the Love Island final, surely?

They said I love you. They said they’d move closer to one another. They said they saw a future together which involved many renditions of Tom Jones’ It’s Not Unusual and Millie’s intense keyboard talent.

And yet, prior to last night’s Love Island final, they weren’t even in a relationship. The Mandela Effect in its truest form.

Millie and Liam were, of course, crowned the winners of this summer’s Love Island, but before all of that, the pair had a chat with Laura Whitmore about their time in the villa thus far.

They spoke about their first date, their split during Casa Amor, and their eventually reconciliation. At the end of all that Liam suddenly turned to Millie and asked her to be his girlfriend.

Shocked and unprepared for the event, Laura exclaimed that she “didn’t know that was going to happen” and said that she was delighted she could witness it.

The crowd also erupted into cheers and whoops, leading many people (me) to believe that Liam had proposed, considering many people (me) presumed the pair were already boyfriend and girlfriend.

They weren’t, but they are now – and they’re also 50k richer. Fair play.

Millie and Liam were crowned the winners of last night’s Love Island alongside runners up Toby and Chloe, Faye and Teddy who came in third, and Kaz and Tyler who came fourth.

The winning couple had already declared their love for one another during their final date in a castle where Millie bashed out another rendition of Ed Sheeran’s Perfect. She also hit the keys during Kaz and Tyler’s last date, and the entire final itself. A true talent.
