Disney announces new Pixar movie ‘Soul’ set for release in summer 2020

Bring it on!

It might be a long wait but, we’re still buzzing for this.

Yesterday, Disney announced that a new film will be landing on our screens next summer.

Confirming the news, Disney and Pixar’s SOUL will hit Irish cinemas on June 19, 2020.

This will be the second Disney and Pixar film to debut next year following on from Onward which is expected to be released in March 2020.

Now, although we know little about SOUL, Disney did give us an insight into what the film will be about. Explaining that it’s set in the heart of New York City, SOUL will be a movie of discovery – finding out where your dreams, hopes and desires come from.

“Ever wonder where your passion, your dreams and your interests come from? What is it that makes you… YOU? In 2020, Pixar Animation Studios takes you on a journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life’s most important questions.”

SOUL will be directed by two-time Academy Award winner Pete Docter, the same man behind Pixar’s Up and Inside Out.

We can’t wait.
