There’s been Elsa (and Anna), Belle and Jasmine.

And not to mention Tiana, Mulan, Snow White and Cinderella.

But it looks like there is going to be another Disney princess joining their ranks soon, as it has been revealed the studio are developing a live-action movie about an African princess.

Disney recently acquired a pitch for Sade, a live-action fairytale movie about an African princess – and an original idea by Ola Shokunbi and Lindsey Reed Palmer, according to Variety.

The story will follow Sadé who, after learning that she has magical warrior powers, uses them to protect her kingdom from an mysterious evil force that is threatening to undo the kind of life she has always known.

She won’t be alone in the adventure, as the Kingdom’s prince will be by her side as they try and save the kingdom.

While the project currently has no director attached, it is set to be produced by Dope director Rick Famuyiwa.

The news comes as the studio has been working on some live-action adaptations of some of their classics.

Last year, they released Beauty and the Beast starring Dan Stevens and Emma Watson. They have also announced the upcoming remakes of Mulan and The Lion King.
