Downton Abbey Favourite Suggests Show Is Nearing An End

Downton Abbey favourite Maggie Smith has suggested the popular TV series is nearing its end. In a recent interview with the Sunday Times, Maggie who plays Lady Violet Crawley, suggested that season six marks the end of the show and that her character "can't keep going". "They say this is the last one, and I can’t see how it could go on. I mean, I certainly can’t keep going. "To my knowledge, I must be 110 by now. We’re into the late 1920s!" said Maggie. Although the actress has a very impressive career to date, she says that Downton Abbey ensured she was instantly recognisable. "One isn't safe after doing Downton. What's sad is I've gone through my whole life without any of that. "I could go round galleries and things on my own and I just can't do it now" said the 80-year-old.
