Girl Rising, a movie voiced by Meryl Streep, Liam Neeson, Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez, Kerry Washington and Cate Blanchett, was the subject of a public screening in Dublin recently, as part of a global campaign for female education.
The movie puts a spotlight on the unforgettable stories of nine girls living in the developing world, striving beyond circumstance and overcoming nearly insurmountable odds to achieve their dreams.
It is part of a larger movement that uses the power of storytelling to highlight that educating girls can transform societies and unite those who believe that every girl has the right to go to school and reach her full potential.
