Dynasty has revealed the new actress who will be playing Alexis Carrington
Well, this is...unexpected.
Warning: This story contains spoilers for the latest episodes of Dynasty.
Dynasty fans were left heartbroken earlier this year when Nicollette Sheridan announced earlier this year that she was going to be leaving the show.
She had become a firm fan favourite ever since she joined as Alexis Carrington midway through season one - and, given her departure, viewers wondered what was going to happen to her character.
Well, we've now got our answer. And honestly, it's the last thing that we expected.
In Sheridan's last episode, Alexis was shoved into a fireplace. The blaze burnt her face and meant she needed plastic surgery, which would allow for the role to be recast.
In the most recent episode, which aired on Friday in the United States and landed on Netflix over here yesterday [April 20], we finally got a glimpse at who would be taking over the role.
Yes, Alexis' new face is the same as her daughter, Fallon Carrington - with Elizabeth Gillies seemingly taking on both roles now.
It's worth noting that the person who picked Alexis' new face, her recently-returned son Adam, seems to have a bizarre 'thing' for Fallon - so we can only imagine her new look won't go over too well...
The big reveal comes a few months after Nicollette Sheridan announced she was leaving the CW reboot.
TVLine report that the CW and CBS Studios confirmed the news in a statement, saying she was leaving to "focus on some personal family responsibilities."
The former Desperate Housewives star released her own statement, where she said she was hopeful fans would "embrace my successor with as much passion as they embraced me.”
