EastEnders have ‘revealed’ Bex Fowler’s exit storyline

Amid the fallout from the boat tragedy, EastEnders have revealed Bex Fowler’s exit storyline.

Last month, it was revealed Jasmine Armfield – who has played the student for the last five years – would be leaving the soap.

And following the tragic boat crash in EastEnders’ 35th anniversary episodes, her exit storyline looks to have been confirmed.

The Sun report that, after recovering from her seizure, Bex decides she has to leave Albert Square – and decides to go travelling. Kat Slater is massively supportive of her decision, but her parents, Sonia and Martin, think it is less than ideal.

When Bex’s passport goes missing, she confronts her mum – who tells her that she doesn’t want her to leave. But she starts to see things from her daughter’s perspective after Jack and Max step in, and Bex writes her mum a letter.

Speaking after the news of her departure, Armfield said she had had “such a fantastic time” playing Bex and being part of EastEnders.

“But now feels like the right time to try something new. I’ve made friends for life working on the show and shall miss them all,” she continued.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Jasmine. She’s brought something incredibly special to the role of Bex and we will all miss her – both as a friend and colleague. We wish her the best of luck for the future,” executive producer Jon Sen said.
