Eastenders Star Teases Reunion For One Of Walford’s Most Popular Couples

Eastenders actor Shane Ritchie has spoken out about a possible reunion for Alfie and Kat Moon, one of Walford's most-loved couples. Those who tuned in to Friday night's episode will know that Kat (Jessie Wallace) told Alfie (Shane Ritchie) they were over after she learned that he started the fire in which she was trapped. The next instalment, airing tonight, will see Alfie try to win Kat back. However, Kat's angry reaction when he soothes one of their twin babies leaves Alfie worried she will stop them from spending Christmas together. Speaking about the possibility of the couple getting back together, Shane said that the storyline has "to do with history". Kat was burned badly in the fire "You've got to go right back to find out how they eventually come together, which is what I've been told by the producers" he continued. Although the Moon family will take a backseat over the festive season, they have a huge storyline in the New Year. Speaking to Digital Spy, executive producer Dominic Treadwell Collins said: "Kat and Alfie are quieter at Christmas, but their story for next year is new, fresh and exciting. "For characters that have been around for a long time, that's very hard to do and we've achieved that".
