Everyone loves Domhnall Gleeson and his teacher Mrs Keogh on the Late Late

All the feels.

Hollywood star and all-round sound lad Domhnall Gleeson was on the Late Late Show on Friday evening.

And in the aftermath he’s giving us all the feels.

Yes, the 34-year-old Dubliner was chatting about his more recent big screen ventures when host Ryan Tubridy produced an aged VHS with the label ‘Scóil Íosa, Grease, 1999’.

So far so intriguing… so intriguing, in fact, that the bauld Mr Gleeson blurted out: “where the fuck did you get that?”

“This is terrible!’ he also joked after apologising for cursing on the Late Late.

“Can we just show everyone just a little clip of this budding actor in Grease The Musical in school?” Ryan adds as a snippet of the recording is shown.

But what REALLY made our evening – and seemingly the evening of much of the nation – is the arrival on camera of Domhnall’s former teacher, Ms Keogh.

“Ms Keogh was my music teacher and an amazing, amazing woman who really made my life better when I was in school,” Mr Gleeson had explained moments before.

“I was quite shy and all the rest of it,” he continues, “and doing the plays and all that stuff was a really good way of getting to know people and have more friends. It was important.”

As the two are reintroduced and start hugging it out, Ms Keogh tells her former student that she’s “so proud” of him… and truthfully from there on in we were reaching for the tissues.

Invited to sit beside him on the Late Late couch, the music teacher confirms that Domhnall was “an absolute pet” (we reckon we all knew that already).

“This guy is an amazing musician,” Mrs Keogh explains as Domhnall goes all shy. “This guy is extremely bright as well; he’s very talented, but he’s very, very clever.

“He got an A1 in Leaving Cert music if I’m not mistaken,” she reveals as Mr Gleeson fist-pumps the air with an animated “come on everybody!”

“Obviously good teachers just matter so much and are so important to people,” Domhnall then concludes turning to Ms Keogh while adding: “So thank you very much for everything.”

The actor has starred in the likes of Ex Machina, Brooklyn, The Revenant, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Forthcoming movies include Goodbye Christopher Robin, a live-action adaptation of Peter Rabbit, and also Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
