Fans unimpressed with the Love Island reunion

Expectations were high, but the show fell flat.

Last night saw the cast of Love Island 2022 come together for a highly anticipated reunion, but it unfortunately fell flat of many fans’ expectations.

During the show, host Laura Whitmore caught up with the islanders and had a sit-down chat with the four final couples. There were also plenty of skits and segments, and Ekin-Su and Nathalia even went head to head once more, rekindling their villa rivalry.

All in all however, the reunion episode didn’t go down well with viewers, with many fans of the show calling for some changes to its structure.

For instance, many felt that as the show was filmed just days after the finale, not enough time had passed for any developments in this year’s couples, and as a result, there was little drama to catch up on. What’s more, the final couples in particular appeared to be very tired as they had little time between the finale and filming the reunion.

Dami Hope for instance, told fans that he was exhausted during the show. Last night, he tweeted: “I’m fighting for my life to keep my eyes open.”

Fans also took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the episode.

One wrote: “Yeah, they really shouldn’t have filmed the reunion three days after the final. The drama is stale and the finalists look exhausted. It’s not giving.”

Superfan Murad Merali spoke about he felt like the reunion wasn’t the appropriate time for Joel Corry and Becky Hill to be promoting their music.

He tweeted: “A reunion show should not be a place for people to promote music such as these DJs. Like that’s not what a reunion is about. I don’t understand what is going on here.”

Another fan tweeted: “Dami looking exhausted is representing all of us watching this crappy reunion.”
