One of the best Irish movies opened in cinemas in September and put a funny spin on the real-life news story about Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007.
The Young Offenders follows two Cork inner-city teenagers, Conor and Jock, as they embark on a 160km road trip on stolen bikes in the hopes of finding an unrecovered bale of coke.
It's taken €1m at the Irish box office since its release last month and now there's even better news for the movie. It's just been picked up for a TV series. Director Peter Foott is currently working on the story which will see a follow on to movie being brought to life on the small screen.
He told RTÉ, "We want to keep it in the world that we have, and that's why we like the idea of doing a big budget TV show. The current idea is it picks up where the film leaves off. I've got different outlines for it."
We cannot wait!
