‘Emily In Paris’ Season 2 is a wrap apparently – and here is everything we know

Emily in Paris season 2

Who is ready for ‘deux?’

Deux is in two – as in SEASON TWO – of Emily in Paris – because guess what – the filming is a wrap, apparently.

Meaning, it is now simply a waiting game until Netflix put us all out of our misery and let us finally find out what the heck is happening with our favourite American in Paris – and the pickle of her ménage-a-trois thing with Gabriel, and Camille.

When interviewed by British Vogue earlier this year, Lily Collins (Emily) had the following to say about how the last season ended:

“I honestly don’t know if Camille knows about what’s going on with Gabriel,” Collins said.

“That voicemail in the finale threw me off. And it’s interesting because, in the series, there are tonnes of little moments where you’re like, ‘… Does Camille like Emily?’ You can’t really get a vibe, and I feel like that ambiguity is what keeps Emily intrigued. I think anyone in that position would be like, you’re my friend, but now I have this romantic connection [with Gabriel], and I don’t want to hurt you, but… Oh my God! So, you know what, it’s really confusing. I feel like the next season will only create more love triangle drama, although maybe Emily will have a little bit of a stronger handle on the situation… Or maybe not.”

Fingers crossed it will all be revealed when season 2 drops!

Speaking of – while there is no official trailer yet, Netflix did release this “deux” and champagne-themed Instagram announcement for our viewing pleasure:

In fact, Netflix officially confirmed back in November that Emily Cooper would be remaining in Paris for the foreseeable via a memo penned by Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu).

“We are writing to regrettably inform you that Emily Cooper will need to remain in Paris for an extended period of time. Despite her overconfident manner and lack of prior experience in luxury goods marketing, she has nonetheless managed to charm some of our hard-to-impress clients during her short time at Savoir. Call it bonne chance, or American ingenuity – I’m leaning towards the former – her results are impressive. We hope that by extending her time in Paris, Emily will further the relationships she has already made, delve deeper into our culture, and perhaps pick up a few words of basic French.”

What else do we know about Season 2?

After stalking Lily Collins’ Instagram, we know that the filming of Season 2 began in Paris and St Tropez back in April this year, and if her social media snaps are anything to go by, it seems Emily’s style is going to be just as crazy/out-there/amazing as it was in Season 1 of the show.

We also know that most of the characters from Season 1 will also reappear in Season 2 – with some new faces making their way into Emily’s life too, apparently…

In an interview with Oprah Mag Emily in Paris creator Darren Star revealed the following about what is next for Emily:

“She’s going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she’s living in,” he explained. “She’ll be more of a resident of the city… She’ll have her feet on the ground a little more. She’s making a life there.”

As for new faces, according to Entertainment Weekly, British actor Lucien Laviscount, French actor Arnaud Binard and Tony-nominated playwright Jeremy O Harris are all set to make appearances in the show.

Deadline has more on Laviscount, who is set to play Alfie, a sarcastic and charming cynic from London who refuses to immerse himself in French culture.

“He enjoys teasing Emily. They have an antagonist relationship that evolves into something more. Alfie is in Paris working for a UK bank, but unlike Emily he works to live, not lives to work. He’d prefer to be playing football or having a pint with the lads in an English-speaking pub.”

Vogue explains that O Harris, on the other hand, is set to take on the role of fashion designer Gregory Elliott Dupree, a former protégé of Pierre Cadault, and Binard will lend support as Laurent G, a gregarious St Tropez nightclub owner who meets Emily when he agrees to promote one of her brands.

When is the release date for ‘Emily In Paris’ Season 2?

Unfortunately, Netflix has yet to confirm an official release date for Emily in Paris Season 2, but we are keeping out fingers crossed it is imminent.

And so I don’t know about you, but winter is looking up!
