The Fingal Film Festival was launched in 2012. It is a new entity that offers a platform encouraging and promoting the works of local film community and National, International emerging filmmakers to showcase their work in an environment where they have access to experienced industry professionals.
The festival provides workshops. training programmes and screen Independent films from new emerging film makers nationally and internationally throughout the four day festival event every year. At least 70% of the festival schedule is dedicated to Foreign films, which broadens the film culture experience to all who attend the screenings in Fingal during the festivals duration. The Fingal Film Festival is a team of people who work effortlessly, voluntarily, to deliver a quality service to young emerging filmmakers
The dates for the festival for 2014 are 26th, 27th and 28th September (Fri, Sat and Sun) all at Movies @Swords. There are 12 screenings over 3 days. Each screenings is priced at €8 for adult and €5 for OAP, students and the unemployed.
There are also a number of workshops running over the course of the festival, like the Animation Training Workshop. These are priced at €20/€15 and tickets are in on sale on
entertainment.ie.
An award ceremony for the event will take place on Sunday 28th September.
