First Dates Ireland’s first mother-daughter double-date is taking place tonight and it is gas

The new series kicks off tonight.

Meeting the parents is nerve-wracking enough. And definitely not something normally done on the first date.

But, thankfully for First Dates Ireland’s first mum and daughter pair, the double-date seems to have gone pretty smoothly.

Well, kind of.

The third season of the RTÉ Two dating show kicks off tonight, with Delia and her mum, Amy, among those heading to the First Dates restaurant.

As the mother-daughter duo head to the bathroom for a mid-date chat, Delia asks her mum how it’s all been going with her date, Donnie.

“Ah, he’s lovely – he’s lovely, a very nice man. But he’s got the same name as your da,” Amy tells her, before the pair burst into laughter.

And back in the restaurant, Delia’s date, Cian, has a bit of a problem of his own.

He sheepishly asked the waitress if she knew his date’s name, as they were getting on “like a house on fire” – but he couldn’t remember it as he was so surprised to have seen her mum there, too.

Thankfully, Amy’s date, Donnie, was there to help him out – although that didn’t quite go to plan.

  • First Dates Ireland begins tonight at 9.30pm on RTÉ Two.
