The first trailer for Netflix’s new horror movie The Platform is here and we’ve got chills.

The movie, described as “a twisted social allegory about mankind at its darkest and hungriest”, arrives on the streaming service on March 20.

It takes place in a future dystopia, where prisoners are housed in vertically stacked cells – and watch hungrily as food descends from above.

The platform moves between the floors, feeding the upper tiers, but leaving those below ravenous and radicalised.

From the trailer, it looks like it doesn’t take too long for things to escalate – with the prisoners going to great lengths to have their fill of food, or to try and escape the prison.

The Platform lands on Netflix on March 20, but in the meantime you can check out the trailer below.

If you’re looking for more information on what’s going to be coming to Netflix this month, we’ve got you covered.

The streaming service also recently unveiled the tense trailer for season three of Ozark (out March 27, FYI), and for The English Game, the new series from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes (out March 20).

And Dare Me, released on Netflix on March 20, is the thriller that will become your next TV obsession – you can find more on that here.

As for what’s coming to Netflix next month, you’ve got Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles to look forward to.

Just a heads up, though: season five of Peaky Blinders is also arriving on Netflix next month – and so is season two of After Life, and Part 4 of Money Heist
