“She’s signed on the dotted line and will be appearing soon.”

Former Coronation Street actress Lucy Jo-Hudson has reportedly landed a role on Hollyoaks.

Lucy, who played Katie Harris on Corrie from 2002 to 2005, is said to be returning to screens in the near future with a “decent part” on the popular Channel 4 soap.

“She’s signed on the dotted line and will be appearing soon. It’s a decent part,” a source told The Sun.

Lucy made headlines earlier this week when it was announced that she and husband actor Alan Halsall were separating after nine years of marriage.

Alan plays Tyrone Hobbs on Corrie, where the couple first met.

She confirmed their split in a statement, saying; “We remain friends and devoted Mummy and Daddy to our daughter Sienna.”

The source also revealed that Alan is in on his ex’s career move and is delighted for her.

“Al knows she’s got it and couldn’t be happier for her. The split is really amicable and they are still very good friends.”

Lucy’s character Katie was only on Corrie for three years but made a big impact. She dealt with a relationship with an older man as a teenager, as well as abortion, murder and suicide during her spell on the cobbles.

Hopefully the actress gets some strong storylines when her character arrives in Chester.
