Salem Saberhagen's witty one-liners and general guidance for Sabrina have been given to another character this time around since...well, Salem himself is quite different.
Cousin Ambrose - Sabrina's English cousin who has been on house arrest at the Sepllman Mortuary for some time - is her voice of reason/partner-in-crime and, really, gives her the intel that her aunts Hilda and Zelda proooobably don't want her to have.
He's also one of the best parts of the series.
Yes, the episodes are a bit on the longer side - with most of them hovering around the hour-long mark (or just under/over it).
But the fact that the entire season plays like a just-over-10-hour-long movie means that you'll be left wanting just "five more minutes" of tuning into Sabrina's magical adventures...which will turn into a whole other episode - trust us.
With all the ongoing mysteries and the cliffhangers, it's easy enough to end up watching the entire first season in an evening or two.
The first episode of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is filled with more blood, gore and screams than we ever thought we would see in a show about Sabrina Sepllman.
And that's just the beginning of it all - wait until you get to episode five.
What we're trying to say is: never has a word in the title of a television show been more appropriate than TCAOS' "Chilling".
Aunt Hilda and Zelda, and their unwavering love and support of Sabrina, were at the heart of the original sitcom - and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is no exception.
Although the two aunts are very different this time around: Hilda is a more motherly and caring figure for Sabrina, mostly serving as the heart of the home; whereas Zelda is more pragmatic with her parenting approach and is shown as more of the head of the household.
They both of their differences (and there's some serious friction between them at times), but when the cauldron boils down to it, they both want the best for Sabrina - and deliver on their promise they made to her deceased parents to help raise her.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is available on Netflix now.
