Argo (15) – Ben Affleck’s Oscar-winning political drama is based on the real-life event of the 1979 Iran hostage crisis during which 52 Americans were taken by militants in Tehran.

Having a right old chuckle

The Sapphires (PG) – Chris O’Dowd stars in this musical comedy as an Irish manager called Dave Lovelace who wants to help a female soul group achieve their dreams.

 

Watching something a little quirky

Perks of Being a Wallflower (15) – In this coming-of-age tale a shy teen called Charlie (Logan Lerman) is exposed to a number of new experiences when he makes friends with Patrick (Ezra Miller) and his stepsister Sam (Emma Watson).
