Irish actor Gabriel Byrne is set to play the role of engineer André Sougarret, the man who orchestrated the rescue of 33 trapped Chilean miners back in 2010.
Titled The 33, the film is said to be already filming in Colombia and will be moving on to Chile’s Atacama Desert.
Deadline reports that the drama is to be directed by Patricia Riggen and will also star Juliette Binoche, Antonio Banderas and Rodrigo Santoro.
No further information on the movie has been revealed.
