Game of Thrones star hints that spoilers ‘may be leaked on purpose’ ahead of final season

This would definitely be something.

It’s one of the most popular shows in the world – which means that, unfortunately for the Game of Thrones show runners, everyone wants to know what’s going to happen next.

Especially since there’s around an 18-month wait between seasons 7 and 8.

Over the years, this has meant that many (and we mean many) spoilers have surfaced online before the scenes actually aired – from reunions to deaths, and just about everything in-between.

And now one of the series’ stars has hinted that this may have been on purpose – wait, what?!

Richard Dormer, who plays Beric Dondarrion, appeared on Sky News where he discussed how annoying the spoiler leaks were – and was careful not to share any major spoilers himself.

He said:

“I suppose it’s good for the show because it gets people talking, and sometimes I suppose they even leak stuff on purpose, I don’t know.

“It’s all good for the show but we find it kind of annoying because we want fans to see it on screen and go ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe it.’

“You don’t want it to be spoiled, you want it to be a piece of entertainment that is constantly keeping you on your toes.”

It’s not totally clear if he’s talking about the fake spoilers (like the rumoured multiple endings or fake scripts used to throw people off the scent) or the real ones.

Either way, though, it’s definitely intriguing.
