Grace and Frankie has been renewed for a seventh season, making it one of the longest-running Netflix original series to date. The sitcom, starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, has been delighting audiences for years with its fresh take on marriage, friendship, and learning how to move on with your life when your husband tells you that he's actually gay. The series kicked off back in 2015 and has since been nominated for several Emmys, a handful of GLAADs, and even a Golden Globe. Basically, it's a decent enough show and we have been entirely blessed to discover that we're getting a seventh season of it. Delightful. According to Deadline, Netflix has ordered another season of Grace and Frankie to follow the upcoming sixth instalment of the sitcom early next year. The seventh season will be the show's last. Fonda and Tomlin said that they were "delighted and heartbroken" that the show has reached its seventh and final season. "We’re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation," they said. "And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well." "We’ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we’ll still be around. We’ve outlasted so many things – just hope we don’t outlast the planet.” “It’s thrilling and somehow fitting that our show about the challenges, as well as the beauty and dignity of aging, will be the oldest show on Netflix,” added co-creators and showrunners Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris.
