Handbags At Dawn As Miss Germany Slams Miss Phillippines Following THAT Miss Universe Gaffe

Don't let the tiara slip, girls...

Looks like it could be handbags at dawn over in Vegas, as the Miss Universe pageant queens are NOT happy following the crowning mishap earlier this week.

The controversy started when TV host Steve Harvey called out the wrong name as the winner of Miss Universe, and was forced to retract, taking the crown from Miss Colombia and placing it on Miss Phillippines’ head.

He later took to Twitter to apologise for the pretty spectacular screw up, saying he feels “terrible” and imploring people not to blame the girls for his very “human” mistake.

However, the feathers have been well and truly ruffled, and now contestant Miss Germany has come forward to express her disappointment at the result (and throw serious shade at Miss Philippines while she’s at it.)

Sarah-Lorraine Riek, who came unplaced in the competition, said in an interview uploaded to the Missosology Facebook page: “I really couldn’t believe it, I was so upset. For me Miss France as the real winner.

“I was very happy for Miss Colombia because she really deserved it. I’m really not happy with the result and so are the other girls, I’m sorry to say it.

“Because no one of us voted for Phillippines. I’m so sorry to say it.”

Ouch.

Meanwhile, the hashtag #respectthecrown is trending, with Miss Phillippines forced to come forward and defend herself, saying: “I did not take her crown from her.” As far as we’re concerned though, the real winner here is Justin Bieber, who posted this gem to his Instagram timeline after the screw up.

It’s so sad but this is too funny had to post no disrespect   A photo posted by Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) on
