Heartbreak for Roy Cropper in Corrie as he’s hit with half-brother terminal illness news

Roy Cropper is set for a bit of good news in Coronation Street as he learns that he's actually got a half-brother. Great. However, Roy Cropper is also set for a bit of bad news in Coronation Street as he learns that that half-brother is actually terminally ill. Not so great. According to Digital Spy, the cafe runner will discover that his late mother Sylvia had given birth to a baby in secret following an affair. Sylvia gave the baby away, but that minute detail isn't enough to stop Roy wanting to know more - so he launches an investigation into the whereabouts of his half-sibling. But when he eventually finds him, he learns that his half-brother is actually terminally ill and that he does not have long to live. The heartbreaking scenes will air over the coming months as Roy finds out the secrets of his mother's past, having already started looking into her early life along with the help of Wayne and Brian. Wayne had already introduced Roy to a woman named Alice Parrott, who alleged that her father had had an affair with Roy's mother, Sylvia. What Roy didn't know, however, was that his half-brother was also born of this affair... and is now tragically dying. These scenes come a few years after Roy's wife Hayley discovered that she had terminal cancer herself, later making the decision to end her own life. Can't catch a break, can he?
