Helen Flanagan responds to rumours she’s returning to Coronation Street

Helen Flanagan has responded to the rumours she’s returning to Coronation Street.

After a number of actors have quit since the start of 2019, the mum-of-two was reported to have been approached about reprising her role as Rosie Webster.

Helen – who now lives in Glasgow with her fiancé Scott Sinclair and their two daughters – admitted she would be “definitely” going back, it’s just a matter of when.

During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine [via Digital Spy], she said:

“I miss Coronation Street so much, and I definitely am going to go back. But it’s just working around my girls.

“Matilda’s at the age where she’s 4 and she’s doing all of her… she needs to be taken to her lessons and what have you.

“And obviously with me living in Scotland, it’s a four-hour drive. And Delilah’s nearly 1. But I just love it so much. I’ve been there since I was 9.”

Adding that it would be “perfect” if Coronation Street was child-friendly, the 28-year-old went on to praise her former co-star Brooke Vincent – who recently announced she’s expecting her first child.

She continued:

“I really miss Sally so much, and I miss Brooke and she’s having a baby now. It’s just amazing… [Brooke will] be the best mum. She’ll be an amazing mum.”

A total of seven Coronation Street cast members have confirmed their departures in 2019.

The most recent cast member to announce they were leaving the soap was Lucy Fallon.

The 23-year-old has played Bethany Platt on the ITV soap for the past four years.

She said that although she has had “the most incredible” time on the show, she will be leaving to pursue other roles once her contract is up next year.

Faye Brookes, who plays Kate Connor, announced last month that she was “off to pastures new” after four years on the soap.

And Tristan Gemmell, who plays Robert Preston, told his fans on April 26 that it was time to “hang up the chef’s gear and head for pastures new.”

Connie Hyde, Katie McGlynn, Kym Marsh and Bhavna Limbachia have all also announced they were leaving the cobbles in 2019.
