Here's when Florence Pugh's new Irish film lands on Netflix

The film is set in the Irish midlands in the post-famine years.

With all the intrigue surrounding Don't Worry Darling, an upcoming feature starring Florence Pugh has slipped right under the radar.

The English actress plays the lead in The Wonder, an upcoming Netflix film, based on the novel of the same name by Emma Donoghue. Florence plays Lib Wright, an English nurse who has been brought to post-famine Ireland to examine Anna O'Donnell, a child who refuses to eat, but appears to be surviving.

Starring opposite Pugh as the starving child is Kíla Lord Cassidy, and the film also features the acting talents of Tom Burke, Niamh Algar, Elaine Cassidy, Toby Jones, Ciarán Hinds, Dermot Crowley, Brían F. O’Byrne and David Wilmot.

The Wonder is directed by Sebastián Lelio, who has previously won an Oscar for his work on A Fantastic Woman.

For those eager to watch the movie, the wait won't be long, as Netflix announced this weekend that The Wonder will land on our screens on 16 November, but it will be in select cinemas before then.

Florence spent a decent chunk of her time in Ireland filming the project last year, and as she shared one of the first looks, she spoke about her love for the Emerald Isle, and we have to say, we agree.

"We've been traipsing around the Irish hills for the last week and it's truly been a magnificent start to a beautiful and exciting film," she wrote at the time. "What a story to get our teeth stuck into, what a crew to be working alongside and a fantastic director Sebastian Leilo to be leading us! This will be fun."

While she was in Ireland, she also made sure to sample one of our best exports - a creamy pint of Guinness.
